Hey neighbor,
Halloween lands on a Saturday this year, and the 540 is treating it like a three-day holiday. Saturday morning, downtown Fredericksburg kicks off with the Costume Stroll down Caroline Street and Treats on the Streets at the shops, while Shannon Air Museum drops candy from airplanes at its Harvest Festival Fly-In. Friday night, Fredericksburg Police roll a Cars & Cops show and trunk-or-treat into the ballpark, and Caledon and Widewater state parks go spooky after dark. Add the Whiskey & Wine Festival, final nights for Halls of Hysteria and the Haunted Hill, pirates haunting Belle Grove, and an extra hour of sleep Sunday when the clocks fall back. Grab your calendar, we're pulling up.

✨ Fairy Pick of the Weekend
Halloween Morning in Downtown Fredericksburg
Downtown Costume Stroll & Treats on the Streets
Saturday, October 31 | Costume Stroll 9:30 AM (pre-stroll fun from 8:30) · Treats on the Streets 10:00 AM–12:00 PM 📍 Stroll meets at VRE Park & Ride Lot B on Caroline St, by the train station; treats at participating shops downtown, with the Visitor Center at 601 Caroline St as home base
Downtown's Scarecrow Fest saves the best for the actual holiday. Get the kids (and yourself) in costume, gather at the VRE lot on Caroline Street for pre-stroll activities at 8:30, and the whole parade of princesses, pirates, and inflatable dinosaurs steps off down Caroline Street at 9:30 sharp. Strollers and wagons are welcome; leave the bikes at home.
Then from 10 to noon, participating downtown businesses hand out treats, the Haunted FXBGO! Bus parks at Market Square (909 Princess Anne St), and Halloween at the Market fills Hurkamp Park with games, crafts, trick-or-treating, and a spooky maze from 9 to 1. It's all free, all walkable, and it sends you straight into our local shops. The treat map goes live on fxbg.com closer to the day.
